Hey folks! I travel back and forth between China and the US for work every three months, and every time I return, my BMW 430i's battery is dead. I'm looking for a DIY solution to keep the battery charged while I'm away without spending too much on replacements. Ideally, I want something automatic that I can just set up and forget about. I was considering using a backup power station like Ecoflow or Jackery as a trickle charger, but I'm not sure if that's the best way to go. Any recommendations on DIY circuits, safe setups, or alternative ideas would be greatly appreciated!

You might want to look into a battery tender specifically designed for this. They’re built to keep your battery charged while you’re away, and they're pretty affordable—often less than replacing a battery. Jay Leno even uses them on his cars! Definitely better than trying to rig something yourself, unless you really want a project.

True, there are specialized ones that work for long-term situations. Seems like spending a bit upfront could save you a headache later!
