Should I Replace My Subfloor After Dog Damage?

I recently pulled up the carpet in our sunroom because my older dog had accidents there, and I wanted to check the condition of the subfloor before putting down new carpet. I plan to apply coats of Kilz or Zinsser for sealing, but I'm unsure how badly it's damaged. There are a few moisture spots and some light mold near the back door. I'm looking for advice on whether I need to fully or partially replace the subfloor or if I can salvage it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I think your subfloor can be saved. Spray it down with some bleach or a mold killer, let it dry, and you should be good to go with the Kilz afterwards. Just keep an eye on that wet area near the back door for leaks!

I’d recommend tearing out any damaged sections of the subfloor. It's better to be safe than sorry! For a sunroom, maybe consider tiling instead of carpet to avoid future issues.

Sounds like you're on the right track! I wouldn't worry about replacing it just yet. If the damage isn't severe, a good cleaning and sealing might do the trick. Just be sure to use a low odor Kilz, as the fumes can be pretty strong. Also, definitely check the door seals to prevent future moisture.
