I'm exploring my options for carving tools and I've stumbled upon Beavercraft tools. They seem affordable, but I noticed their FAQ mentions some quality control issues. I'm hoping to overlook that and believe I'll receive a decent product. Most conversations I find focus on their knives, but what about their axes? Specifically, is the [bearded carving axe](https://beavercrafttools.com/products/ax6-compact-long-bearded-bushcraft-hatchet) a solid buy in this price range, or are there better alternatives available?

I've got Beavercraft's other carving axe, and it’s done a good job for me, especially with green fruitwood and softer woods like cedar and maple. However, I feel like there are definitely better options out there. I use a two-sided sharpening puck that works wonders—one side's 150 grit and the other’s 320, so it keeps my axe in good shape. Honestly, I’m curious if there are other axes around this price that are even better!
You might want to check out the Robin Wood axe. There are two models, and the cheaper one is pretty decent for the price. You can also find it at Lee Valley if you're interested!

Do you think there's a better axe for the same price, or are you considering spending a bit more?
