What’s the Best Temporary Cover for Mulch in My Rental Yard?

Hey everyone! I'm currently renting a townhouse and the backyard has mulch, which makes a bit of a mess when my dog starts zooming around. I'm looking for a temporary solution to make it easier for her to run around without mulch flying everywhere. I was considering getting some outdoor flooring from Ikea. Any suggestions?

If you're dealing with that pesky fine mulch, you might want to check with your property management about swapping it out. We had a similar issue in our rental and suggested switching to bigger chips like cedar or playground chips, which don’t get stuck to everything and are easier to manage!

Using outdoor flooring might be a good idea, but have you thought about putting down landscaping fabric over the mulch? I'm not an expert, but it could help. Just keep in mind that dog nails might tear it up pretty quickly!

Yeah, I’m not sure landscaping fabric would hold up with the dog running around.

You could try this product called Landscape Lock garden glue if you're in New Zealand. It helps lock the mulch in place, so it doesn’t scatter as easily and lasts for about a year. It sprays on white and dries clear, so it should blend in well!
