I'm planning to insulate my house, but I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the whole process. I'd love to hear what others have experienced. Did you choose your insulation materials and brands, or leave it to your contractor? When you got quotes, did the prices come clear right away, or only after the contractor visited your site? What was the most frustrating part of your insulation project—pricing, scheduling, or communication? And in the end, do you prioritize saving money, or are you willing to pay more for guaranteed quality? Thanks in advance for any insights!

You can absolutely pick your own insulation brand, but it's often simpler to let the contractor make the decision and just compare their quotes. Most contractors will give you more accurate quotes after they visit your site. The scheduling aspect tends to be the biggest pain, at least for me. We chose to spend a bit more for a contractor with a solid reputation and a guaranteed job, and honestly, it was worth every penny!

How did you go about finding the right contractor? Did you just go with friends' recommendations, or did you check online reviews as well? Appreciate the info!
