I found a peculiar wet spot outside while getting ready to paint and caulk my doorframe. It's odd since we haven't had rain in over a week. There's a black corrugated pipe nearby that I mistook for construction trash from the previous owners. I now think I might be wrong about that. The top of the pipe looks damaged, and it's filled with mud. This spot is on the side of my house and seems to run beneath a magnolia tree—could it even be linked to the driveway? Oddly enough, no other areas up to the water service are wet, and I'm unsure if the water line runs alongside this pipe. I'm feeling really overwhelmed and could use some insight into what this wet spot is, how serious it might be, and what steps I should take to fix it.

It sounds like you could be dealing with an old drain pipe, maybe a french drain that’s been clogged or broken. Those can collect water runoff, so if it’s not draining well, it could lead to those wet spots.
That wet spot might be because of a damaged sprinkler line. Sometimes, they can get broken and start leaking. But, since you mentioned there’s no lawn irrigation, it might not be that. Check if the area has any other sources of water.
I appreciate the insight! I’ll look more closely for any signs of damage.

Is it fixable? I’m worried since it runs under a magnolia tree with all those roots.
