How Can I Add Privacy to My Front Door Windows?

Asked By SunnySideUser23 On

I have large windows flanking and above my front door which look beautiful, but they really compromise my privacy and let in a lot of heat during the summer. I'm searching for a DIY static cling window tint that allows me to see outside while preventing anyone from looking in. I've read that many options online have received bad reviews, so I'm wondering what the best approach is here. Is it even feasible to achieve what I'm looking for?

Just a heads-up, any tinted window products will be see-through at night if you have lights on inside. I use both tinted and frosted films in my home, and while they help with privacy, movement can still be visible which can be a little creepy. If you're worried about security, I'd recommend blocking the view completely and maybe installing a peephole or a security doorbell. If you want to keep some light but reduce heat and UV rays, a film could work during the day along with some curtains for added privacy at night.

Got it! Thanks for the clarity. Where did you purchase your films from?
