Why is my new Toto Aquia IV toilet clogging so easily?

I recently had a brand new Toto Aquia IV toilet installed during my bathroom remodel, and while it's stylish and generally works well, I'm facing some serious issues with it. First, it clogs way too easily—just a few sheets of toilet paper can lead to a clog after a full flush, which I've never experienced with other toilets. Second, I can't find a toilet plunger that fits this model; none of the standard plungers make a good seal, so I'm left with just one type that's electric and a hassle to use. What could I be missing with the Aquia IV?

It seems like the Aquia IV has some mixed reviews compared to something like the Toto Drake II. Some owners swear by it, while others, like you, face major clogging issues. It could be the specific batch or installation quirks. Just out of curiosity, is the flushing mechanism working properly? If it’s not flushing with enough power, that might be part of the problem.

I’ve had the Toto Aquia IV with the 550e washlet for three years, and it hasn’t clogged once! It sounds like you might be using a heavy-duty or thicker toilet paper which this model doesn’t handle well. Have you tried switching to a lighter brand? Also, make sure it’s installed properly—sometimes the angle or position can affect how it drains. Hope this helps!

Yeah, I’ve read that thicker toilet papers can cause issues with certain models. Switching the brand could definitely make a big difference!
