Hey everyone! I need some advice because I spotted a weird growth on my succulent that I've never seen before. I got this succulent from my boyfriend, and when I repotted it, I didn't notice anything unusual at the time. Now, I'm starting to worry that it might be mold or possibly some bug eggs. It's the only plant affected, and I could really use some insight on what this might be and how to treat or remove it. Thanks!

Don't stress too much! Those growths are often just harmless fungal spores that pop up now and then. It’s usually no biggie, but if it bothers you, a quick repotting can help clear it up. If it looks more like insect eggs, that's a different story, but based on your description, I’d say it's likely nothing to worry about! Just keep an eye on it and make sure your plant is otherwise healthy.
It sounds like it might just be harmless fungi. Sometimes you can see fungal spores or even slime molds come up in potting soil. It could mean your soil mix is on the organic or poorly draining side, but it's not a huge deal. A common one you might be seeing is called Leucocoprinus birnbaumii (the flowerpot parasol). Those little yellow mushrooms are pretty harmless to your plant. If you see some white, webby stuff, that's just harmless surface mold too! Most people just opt for a repot if they don't like how it looks, but generally, you don't need to do anything since it's not harmful. Just keep an eye out for any real infections that can damage the plant.
