Hey everyone! I'm new to the solar scene and trying to figure out the best option for a ground mount solar panel array. I'm leaning towards Maxeon panels but can't decide between two options: the SPR Maxeon 6 410 BLK paired with the Enphase IQ7HS-66-M-US micro inverter, or the SPR Maxeon 3 410 BLK-R with an Enphase IQ8 micro inverter (still waiting on the exact model). The Maxeon 3 costs about 3.5% more than the Maxeon 6 setup. Ideally, I'd like to go with the Maxeon 6 and the IQ8 since that's newer tech. I've heard that Enphase has an upgrade program for their micro inverters, but I want to ensure I'm not making a mistake by choosing one over the other. While the specs seem similar, IQ8 has microgrid capabilities that I might not need right away. Should I be concerned about this choice, or am I overthinking it? Any insights would be super helpful! Thanks!

I’d definitely go with the IQ8 since it has more advanced features. Even if the Maxeon 3 is slightly older, the newer inverter tech gives you more flexibility for future upgrades. Plus, the IQ8 will likely perform better in optimizing your energy output. It's a small investment for potentially big benefits down the line!
I work with Maxeon and Enphase installations, and honestly, both the Maxeon 6 and 3 are solid choices. That said, if your solar access is great, I'd recommend the IQ8. As for the pricing, can you share the cost per panel and inverter? It might help make your decision easier.
The price difference per panel is pretty close—$1,302 for Maxeon 3 and $1,343 for Maxeon 6. I've also got over 400ft of trenching on top of that! Also, these prices are before any incentives.

Thanks for the input! Would you still pick IQ8 if it’s paired with the older Maxeon 3?
