I'm looking for advice on the easiest plants to care for, especially for total beginners. What are some forgiving options that can survive even with a bit of neglect?

Cucumbers are pretty easy to grow! They handle heat well and grow great in both containers and the ground without needing much fertilizer. Plus, I've had very few pest problems, which is a bonus!

I'd say basil is a great choice! It's pretty forgiving, even if you accidentally overwater it. Just be aware that it can be susceptible to root rot if you drown it, so a bit of care goes a long way.

I’ve heard that, but isn’t basil really prone to root rot? Might want to be cautious with that.

For me, tomatoes are a solid pick. They usually grow well and aren’t too fussy if you give them enough sunlight and the right amount of water. Just make sure you've got some room for them to spread out since they can get a bit big!

You know, succulents are super low-maintenance! They don’t need a lot of water and can tolerate a bit of neglect. But keep in mind where you’re keeping them; indoor vs outdoor can make a big difference, especially with sunlight and temperature.
