Looking for Opinions on Gas Boilers: Is the IBC SFC 199 Combi a Good Choice?

Hey everyone! I'm needing some advice on gas boilers since my old oil burner has given up on me. I got a quote for the IBC SFC 199 Combi natural gas fired condensing boiler which boasts a 95% efficiency rating. My house has three bedrooms and one and a half baths, totaling about 1,600 square feet, and it's located in southern New England. We might consider expanding to an additional bedroom and bath in the future, but that's not certain yet. I live with four people (including two kids who are always taking baths), so I do a lot of laundry and dishwashing too. Is this boiler a good fit for my home? Also, I currently have an indirect hot water heater—will this new boiler work with it, or should I get rid of it? Thanks in advance!

If you're using the boiler for both heating and hot water, then a combi unit like the IBC SFC 199 is definitely a great option. I just installed a similar setup in a cold area and it worked out perfectly for heating and providing hot water. Your heating bills should see a nice drop too! Just keep in mind that if anything happens to the boiler, you'll lose both heating and hot water, so zoning your system could be a good plan for the future. If you’re concerned about heat loss or how much you’ll actually need, it might be worth running some calculations or getting a pro to assess your home.”,

Are you saying that both hot water and home heating will be good with the combi unit?
