I live in a corner house and recently witnessed a car accident where a vehicle flipped and landed near an empty lot. With plans for more houses in the area soon, I'm concerned about vehicular safety. I'm considering decorating my yard with large boulders instead of putting up a fence to help prevent cars from crashing into my home. What are the pros and cons of this idea? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Definitely check with your local rules first! There might be regulations against placing boulders, and you want to avoid any liability if a vehicle hits them.
Boulders can really hold their ground if they're big enough, so they might serve their purpose in stopping cars from crashing in! Just make sure they don't obstruct the view when someone is trying to turn at the intersection.
A fence could keep pedestrians from cutting through your yard when making turns, but if a car veers off the road, it'll likely just demolish the fence and still make it into your space. If you want to be safer, really big boulders might work better as a crash barrier!

Yeah, but make sure they're big enough not to cause severe harm to anyone if they hit them. Maybe look into how traffic engineers do things - small spaced boulders may keep cars away without creating hazards.
