I just finished building a Dutch door, but I'm facing an issue where the top part rattles when it closes. I have a locking system to secure the upper and lower halves together, but there's still some movement. I've tried using thin weather stripping, but it hasn't solved the problem. I'm considering using some strong magnets to keep the two halves together. Does anyone have recommendations for strong magnets that would work for this?

Check this out! I found something that might fit your needs perfectly: [magnet catch product link]. This could be an effective way to keep your door secure without a ton of hassle!
I've used magnets in some cabinets and boxes, but honestly, for your Dutch door, I'd recommend exploring other mechanical solutions. Have you thought about adding a spring or upgrading your lock mechanism? That might provide a more reliable grip than magnets alone!
I’m open to that! I actually got a lock that was recommended here by a pro door maker. I think it’s solid, but maybe a spring could help maintain tension.

I actually purchased something similar before but decided against installing it. I’m a bit hesitant about drilling a big hole if it doesn’t end up working.
