I recently bought an M12 SDS hammer drill, which only has options for standard drilling and hammer drilling. However, I just noticed that the newer models include a 'hammer only' option. Did I buy an older version, or did they release a new model after I bought mine?

It sounds like you might have the older model, especially if you got it a year or two ago. The newer models, like the 2508, are a big upgrade with that hammer-only setting. If you got the 2416, that's definitely the older version. It's a bit annoying they didn't include that feature for you!
Yeah, they dropped a new model last year that offers the hammer-only setting. If yours doesn't have that, then it's just an older version. You might want to check if your drill is the 2416 or the newer 2508—big difference between the two!
The new one is definitely a step up! If you didn't get that feature, you got the older model, and it’s not your fault; they should've notified you about the upgrade at the time of purchase. Looks like they just released models with enhanced features lately.
For sure! It seems a bit unfair to buy something not knowing there’s a newer, better version available.

Yeah, I’d say you might feel a bit shortchanged. It's a handy feature to have!
