Is This Window Quote a Steal or Just Too Good to Be True?

Hey everyone! I'm in Houston and I've been shopping around for windows. I got this quote from a local company for 4 windows (5ft x 5ft) at just $1200 total, which seems way lower than what I've seen at big-box stores, where prices ranged from $800 to $1200 each! The quote is just for the windows since I'll be installing them myself. The window specs include 'WHITE E366 LOW-E / CLEAR, 3/4" IG UNIT, ARGON, HALF SCREEN INCLUDED.' Does this price seem too good to be true to anyone else? I'm just trying to figure out if I should go for it or if I need to be cautious here.

Always a good idea to shop around and get more quotes. Just keep in mind that you might find variations in pricing depending on where you look. But if this deal looks legit, and the company's credible, it could be a great find!

That price seems reasonable to me! I got a 3x3 window for about $225, so for a 5x5 size, your quote is not out of the ordinary, especially if they're decent quality windows. I went to Trophy Windows myself and had a good experience, so maybe check that out too!

Honestly, $300 per window for those specs sounds like it could be a bargain, possibly a broker's lot rate. Just make sure you're getting quality units. It would be smart to double-check if the windows are labeled correctly with the manufacturer's info, like the materials used and the manufacture date. If all checks out, they might just be trying to clear out excess stock! It wouldn’t hurt to ask them for more details about where they came from. If they're reputable, they should be open about it.

Yeah, definitely do your homework. It’s also good practice to get multiple quotes to compare prices and options. A few years back, I aimed for around $600 per window for installs, but a 5x5 window is a big commitment, so it could cost more!
