Should I Cover My Garden During Upcoming Rainstorms?

I'm new to gardening and have been successful with tomatoes, cucumbers, and beans this season. I just heard we're expecting several days of rain and storms in the Northwest. I have some clear plastic drop cloths lying around and I'm wondering if it's a good idea to cover my plants with them. I can set up some stakes to hold it up. It's late in the season and I really want to protect my tomatoes, which are still growing strong!

Unless you're dealing with hail, rain generally won't harm your garden. Most plants thrive with a good soak!

But what if it’s really heavy rain? Light rain is fine, but I worry about downpours damaging them.

In my experience, hard rain is rare, especially if it's just for a short time. Your plants should be alright!

Thanks! I’m still learning the ropes and just want to make sure I’m doing everything right. The forecast looks more like drizzle now!
