I'm curious about which plants do well in shady spots when it comes to flowering. I've had great results with marigolds thriving in full shade, as well as hostas, digitalis, and surprisingly, alstroemeria. What have you all had success with in shady areas?

For shade-tolerant flowering plants, you can try Dicentra, Aquilegia, and Alchemilla. I have a hydrangea that's doing great in mostly shade, plus cranesbill geraniums really thrive in that environment too. Astilbe and primroses are also solid choices for shady borders!
Heucheras, ferns, and coleus are all fantastic options for shady spots—they really add some amazing color. I’ve also had luck with Tiarella and Heucherella. I haven’t tried coleus myself yet, but I’m looking forward to it!
Don’t forget about hellebores! They’re great for shady areas and bloom when not much else is happening in the garden. They really can make a difference in gloomy spots!
True, ferns don’t actually flower. There are some varieties with pretty seed stalks though, plus there's a plant called flowering fern, but it's not a real fern. Just a heads up!
