I've recently been looking into the different Milwaukee M12 batteries and how they compare, thanks to some helpful resources I found. Right now, I've got a variety of batteries: CP2.0, CP3.0, XC4.0, XC6.0, CP2.5, and XC5.0. I just scored some XC3.0 batteries during the Labor Day sale and now I'm wondering if I should keep them. From what I've seen in a comparison spreadsheet, the performance in terms of continuous drain ranks like this: XC5.0 > XC4.0 > XC3.0 > XC6.0 > CP2.5 > CP3.0 = CP2.0. It seems that while the XC3.0 batteries are better than some I already have, I have other options that outperform them. What I'm really looking for is a solid reason to keep these XC3.0 batteries. Any advice?

Honestly, I’m not a fan of the XC3.0 batteries either. If you’re looking for less power usage, they could be decent for lighter tools like lights or caulk guns. I typically use smaller batteries for my heated jackets and driver tools. For the heavier tasks, I stick with the 2.5 and 5.0 high outputs. You probably won't miss the XC3.0s unless you have specific low-demand tools for them.
I think it depends on what tools you’re using! I’m a DIYer and mostly use M12 for lighter tasks. My M18 tools usually handle the big jobs, so I don’t stress over the battery performance too much. But if your M12 tools include impact tools or anything demanding, you might want to keep them for specific jobs. It seems like you have enough options already, though!

I totally agree! If you primarily use your M12 for less demanding tasks, keeping the XC3.0 might not be worth it. But if you do need the extra power for certain tools, having a backup could be handy.
