I'm planning to hire a professional to remediate mold in my attic and the process involves HEPA vacuuming, scrubbing or spraying, and then vacuuming or wiping again. I've got a few product options to consider: a thymol-based botanical disinfectant, ammonia-based solutions, hydrogen peroxide serum, and Concrobium. I'm leaning towards Concrobium, but I'd love to hear from anyone who has experience using it in attics. Did you notice any chemical smells seeping into nearby rooms? I had a bad experience with a thymol product in my garage that lingered for two weeks after replacing the drywall, and I can't do all that extra cleaning in the attic. Someone mentioned using borax, but I haven't found a contractor who uses it. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Concrobium and hydrogen peroxide are both great choices if you're looking for something effective with low odor. I've had success with both; they work well without leaving a strong smell. Just an FYI, Concrobium needs to be sprayed directly on the mold for best results, but once it’s dried, it doesn’t stick around with a stinky scent. Hope that helps!
Definitely go for Concrobium! It's a blend of mineral salts that doesn't have that harsh chemical smell. I've used it successfully in different areas, and I found it quite low in odor compared to other products. Just keep in mind, for it to work best, you need to spray it directly on the mold. Plus, it won’t linger like thymol products might when exposed to heat. Good luck with the cleaning!
I haven't used Concrobium in an attic specifically, but from what I hear, it works really well. In my experience in humid areas, all the mold removal pros swear by it. I’ve had pretty long-lasting results with it in basements and crawlspaces. Just make sure to get multiple quotes and find one that includes a deep cleaning afterward. It can save you a ton of stress later on.

This is reassuring. Thank you!
