I'm situated in the North West of Ireland where the soil tends to stay damp throughout the year. I have a hydrangea in a pot that I've been meaning to plant in my front garden but I missed the chance to do it over the autumn and winter. Now I'm wondering if it's too late to make the move?

It's generally better to wait for drier conditions before planting in heavy, wet soil. If you can enhance the drainage in your garden beforehand, it might work out! Just be cautious about how wet the soil is where you're thinking of planting.
If you have other plants thriving in that area, like your gooseberry bush and holly, that’s a good sign! It suggests the hydrangea could adapt too, but improving drainage is key. Just make sure not to plant it if the ground is super soggy!
