I've come across a contractor who has an impressive profile on Angi, boasting 70 reviews and a perfect 5-star rating. Still, I can't help but wonder if these reviews can be trusted. Has anyone had experiences with Angi that make them doubt the authenticity of contractor reviews? I've noticed that this contractor has no reviews available on any other platforms, which raises some red flags for me.

Angi hasn’t been reliable for quite a while now. It used to be better back when they were Angie's List, where you could find legitimate reviews without all the gimmicks. Now, contractors get charged for leads, and customers face a barrage of calls after submitting their info. It's just not the same, and I personally think it’s pretty awful for both sides.
Yeah, there's a good chance of fake reviews on most sites, including Angi. What's concerning is when they remove negative reviews while keeping the positive ones. It can really skew the perception of a contractor's actual performance.
Honestly, I've heard some pretty shady things about Angi. One time, I reviewed a contractor who did such a terrible job we even took them to small claims court. Angi didn't seem to take my review seriously; they actually told me they’d remove it unless I confirmed I had the right contractor! That didn't sit well with me and made me question how they handle reviews in general.
