What’s Your Ratio of Dewalt Tools to Batteries?

I'm curious to know how many Dewalt cordless tools you all have compared to the number of batteries. Personally, I own 13 tools and 6 batteries. However, two of my batteries are from my lawnmower, so if we exclude those, my ratio is more like 12 tools to 4 batteries, which comes out to a 3:1 ratio. I have a theory about this: those of us with a high tool-to-battery ratio (more tools than batteries) are typically homeowners who enjoy tackling various smaller projects in our spare time but often hire out larger tasks. In contrast, if your ratio is low (fewer tools but more batteries), you might be more of a pro focused on a specific type of work, needing plenty of batteries to keep the job moving. How does your tool-to-battery ratio look?

I've got about 60 tools and roughly 10 batteries. It's awesome being able to interchange them across so many tools!

Totally agree! Having that sort of compatibility makes life so much easier.

My tool-to-battery ratio is probably around 2:1. I started collecting Dewalt tools ages ago and took advantage of those 'buy a tool, get a free 5Ah battery' promotions at Bomgaars. Now I have a nice stash of batteries, so I mainly buy bare tools and sell the batteries to offset the costs. I mostly use my 1.7/5Ah Power Stack— the lightweight 1.7 is perfect for the drill, while the 5Ah is great for heavier tools like my circular saw. Honestly, as a home hobbyist, I recommend getting a couple of those smaller batteries; they last a long time for home projects, and you can keep the bigger ones for when you're running multiple tools.
