Hey everyone! I recently moved into a place with thick drywall that covers solid brick, typical of old Victorian homes. I want to hang my guitars on the wall, which is made of this brick, but I'm unsure about the best way to do it using anchors. Any advice or tips would be great!

I'd suggest using a hammer drill with a masonry bit, paired with rawl plugs for extra grip. Just be wary of the quality—cheap plugs don’t hold well, but Fisher brands are reliable. Also, the size of the plugs should match the screws you plan to use for your guitar hangers. Just a heads up, if you're in an old house, sometimes you can skip the hammer drill; some older bricks can be surprisingly soft to drill into!
When dealing with drywall over brick, I recommend using a masonry bit along with cone-nosed wall anchors. They work well together for securely hanging fixtures. Make sure you drill properly to avoid damaging the structure.
You definitely want masonry bits and screws for this kind of installation. They’re crucial for drilling into brick successfully without cracking it. Just make sure to choose the right size based on what you’re hanging!

Yeah, I agree! Older bricks can actually make things easier. I had a similar experience in a 1906 place—drilling wasn't as tricky as I expected!
