I'm currently trying to attach undermount slides to my cabinets, but I'm running into some issues. I've been using a Vix bit for 5 to 6mm, and it feels too small. The euro screws are tricky for me—they're causing some tear out and stripping problems. What size drill bit do you guys use for euro screws? Do you just go with 5 mm x 1/2 wood screws instead?

For our cabinets, we purchase 6.3mm euros with 5x13mm holes cut from the CNC. We've only had issues when we mistakenly used 7mm euros, where the threads got caught in the runner holes. So, I'd recommend sticking to the 6.3mm for smooth installation.
I typically go with #8 7/16 truss head screws for these setups. Instead of pre-drilling, I just use a punch to mark my holes when working with plywood, and I start with a 1/8" bit for hardwood. I haven't used euro screws myself; honestly, pre-drilling for the small amount of cabinets I do just seems like more hassle than it's worth! Also, I think euro screws utilize a pozi drive, just a heads up.
We drill 5mm holes in the slots of the slides with 5mm system screws. Once the slides are correctly positioned, I secure them with #7 wood screws through additional holes. I use a 3/32 Vix bit for pre-drilling those screws. I've always had luck with this setup—are you sure you're drilling deep enough for those system screws?
