Hey everyone, I've got a real problem with my pocket door. It's been pushed all the way into its slot and now it's completely jammed. I can wiggle it a bit side to side, and I notice a tiny movement at the bottom when I pull, but it's totally stuck at the top. I'm thinking the back wheels might be off the track. Is there anything I can try to fix this myself or should I just call a carpenter? Here's a link to an image for reference: https://imgur.com/a/AW4Kt5u

You could try drilling a long screw into the door. Tie a string to it and pull to see if that helps get the door out. After that, it would be good to check the wheels and tracks. Just make sure the screw goes in close to the bottom so you can use a pry bar for some leverage.
Thanks for the advice, but it’s still not budging. Is there any way I can lift the door while it’s still in the slot? I’m worried I might have to drill through the wall to get better access.

Good tip on the screw! Just remember, if you place it low enough, it’ll be less noticeable when you fill and paint over it, plus you might avoid going all the way through on a cheap hollow door.
