Why is my kitchen sink’s cold water thumping?

I've been hearing a thumping noise coming from the cold water line at my kitchen sink for a while now. It's really annoying, and I'm not sure what's causing it. Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this issue?

Are any other appliances, like your washer, dishwasher, or shower, causing issues too? It might help clarify if the whole system is affected or just your sink. Also, since you mentioned you’re on town water, that rules out well issues.

Got it, so it seems isolated to just the sink. That could help focus your troubleshooting!

No, nothing else is making noise.

It sounds like there might be a blockage in the cold water line specifically to your sink. Is it just happening at that sink, or have you noticed it elsewhere?

Yes, it's only at my kitchen sink.
