Why Does My Washer Stay Filled with Water After the Cycle?

I've run multiple cycle types on my washer, but it always ends up filled with water when it's done. I don't think the drain pump is the culprit since it drains fine during operation. I'll check the filter for blockages, but what else could be causing this issue?

If your washer fills and then just stops, here are two quick things to check:

1) Make sure the drain hose is securely in place.
2) If it’s a top-loader, look at the lid switch. If it thinks the lid is open, it won't move to the next cycle.

How old is your washer? If it’s an older model, it might rely on a timer instead of a sensor to determine how long to run the pump. This could mean the pump is weak or that there's a blockage. Checking your filter and drain hose is a smart move!

I actually managed to get it to drain after removing some clothes. Now I’m trying a smaller load, but there’s a clicking noise when it should be spinning.

Just to give you a heads up, mine's a 2001 model too, so that could explain some of the older tech quirks.
