So, we had a bit of an unexpected situation where it rained, and we don't have a roof on our addition yet. We have 3/4" plywood laid over faced fiberglass insulation. I'm worried about the insulation under the plywood. Is there a way to check if it's still okay, and how wet it got? Should I consider using fans or a dehumidifier to help dry out the crawl space? Also, just to clarify, the insulation has the paper facing up and we used construction adhesive between the plywood and the joists before nailing it down.

First off, if you can lift a corner of the plywood without damaging too much, check the insulation underneath. If it's soggy, compressed, or the paper has dark spots, it’s likely time to replace it. If it’s just a little damp, fans and a dehumidifier can help dry it out, but be cautious because if the insulation is really waterlogged, it might lose its R-value and could develop mold. Also, make sure any plywood underneath dries flat to avoid future issues.

That’s a good point about checking the plywood! But if it’s glued down and the walls are built, could I crawl under and take moisture readings instead?
