I'm planning to pick up some tools from Home Depot in the US and take them back to the UK. I've checked the British Airways website and it seems doable, but I'd love to hear from anyone who has gone through this process before to make sure I'm not missing anything. Any tips or personal experiences would be super helpful. Thanks!

You need to be careful with batteries since they can't go in checked baggage. Also, there might be a limit on how many you can carry on. But if you're planning on bringing cordless 18v power tools and keep them in original packaging, you should be fine! Just make sure to do your research ahead of time.
I can't speak for UK customs, but when I was in the EU, they occasionally asked about items over a certain value when you return. If you have a lot of new tools in boxes, it could raise some questions. Some people would take them out of packaging to make it look like they were used or brought with them. Just a thought!
Interesting strategy! I read there's a limit of about £135 for bringing stuff back, and it's a requirement for power tools to stay in their original packaging. Just trying to get as much info as I can since I don't personally know anyone who's done this.

Right, batteries can be tricky! It sounds like you have a plan, but just to be safe, check with the airline about any specifics on carry-on limits.
