Are We Seeing More Pests This Season or Just Getting More Aware?

I've been feeling like there's a surge in pests lately, or maybe I'm just finally realizing the importance of being careful since I've been a bit lax with quarantine and pest control for my new plants. Is there actually an increase in pests this time of year, or is it just part of the normal cycle?

I got a bit too confident and found spider mites on my lucky bamboo recently. Thankfully, I caught it early. I hit it hard with some Dead Bug Spray and Systemic treatments to be safe!

I once lost a whole plant to spider mites. They were way too persistent for me.

You know, the weather plays a huge role. I've seen people blaming everything from summer heat to winter chill for pest problems. Personally, I just give every new plant a thorough shower with systemic treatments. Can't risk those little critters!

I'm trying to be more careful too! I slipped up and now I'm dealing with spider mites. Ugh!

What specific systemics do you use? Just brought a plant home and it's covered in spider mites. Never doing that again!

Pests can come from anywhere—windows, groceries, even hitching a ride on our clothes! It's tough to fully prevent them. I haven't added new plants in over a year, but I still found spider mites on my succulents. It's a reminder that some pest management is always necessary, especially during summer.

Guess I'm naive too! I thought just keeping them indoors would be enough.

This year seems particularly bad for pests where I live, especially with the dry summer and being near a river. Old buildings like mine are pretty much open invitations for bugs, especially mites!

You'd think living in a humid area would help, but sometimes it feels like a magnet for pests too!
