Today, my apartment had my tub reglazed while I was at work. I didn't know I needed to leave the place, and my cats were here all day. From my doorbell camera, it looks like they finished around 9 AM, and now, 9 hours later, I can still smell the chemical fumes very strongly despite having the exhaust fan on and the bathroom door shut. I'm really worried about my cats since I can't afford to board them or stay in an Airbnb. Is it safe for us to stay as long as I keep the windows open and the AC running?

Honestly, if you can smell it, the fumes are likely at dangerous levels. You should really get yourself and your cats out of there for at least a day to be on the safe side. I know someone whose cat had severe reactions to fumes like these, and it took a toll on her health. It's not worth the risk!
