I recently purchased a house with a red brick driveway that's in pretty rough shape, and honestly, I can't stand the bright color. I'm looking for options to make it more neutral, like using concrete or some other material. Instead of the whole hassle of tearing it out and hiring a professional—which I really want to avoid—are there any DIY methods or other affordable solutions to recoat it? I'm flexible on budget but definitely want to keep it under $5,000.

You could try adding some planters or plants around the driveway for a weathered terracotta vibe. Sometimes just making the space more appealing can help distract from the driveway issues.
Have you thought about using concrete paint from Sherwin Williams? They offer a variety of colors, and while it can be a bit pricey, it’s definitely cheaper than pouring a whole new slab.
Have you considered pebble stone epoxy? It could be a good solution if you’re looking for something different.
Honestly, when I first read your post, I thought it might not be that bad, but after seeing the photo, wow, that’s rough! I’d consider getting a few contractors to check it out for ideas. Also, could an acid wash help tone down that red color? Oh, and have you tried flipping a brick? It looks like there might be paint on them, but maybe the reverse side isn’t as bright. Just a thought since it could save you some money if it works!
Yeah, I definitely see brush strokes, so it has some kind of red coating for sure. Even the bricks themselves are a muted red, which I’m not a fan of either. Flipping them isn’t really feasible for me, and pressure washing didn’t help, so I’m thinking of just adding a gray coating and filling in the cracks.
