I'm considering whether to go for the current straight Gen 1 grinder, which comes with two 5.0Ah HO batteries, or to hold off in hopes of a better deal once the Gen 2 model is available. I've already decided against getting the Gen 1 right angle die grinder since the Gen 2 is out now, but I'm curious if the Gen 2 straight grinder is on the way, or if it's even being planned. I think I might use a straight grinder for tight spots, but I'm not sure how often I'll need it compared to the right angle model. I've had experiences where I thought I wouldn't use a tool much, only to end up using it frequently once I had it. What do you all think? Any advice or experiences comparing straight vs right angle grinders?

The deal on the straight grinder right now is pretty sweet with the two 5.0A batteries for just $199. At that price, it feels like the grinder is almost free! I actually snagged both the Gen 1 straight and Gen 2 right angle for $229. Totally unnecessary, but I can’t resist a good deal!
I usually go for the right angle grinders, but the straight one definitely comes in handy for those tricky spots. Honestly, if you're considering the straight grinder, it might be worth getting both! You never know when you’ll need that extra flexibility.

I’ve seen that deal with the 2.5Ah, and while I think it's good, I’m leaning towards waiting too! It seems like they’re clearing out the old right angle models before dropping some better ones for the Gen 2. Plus, I could really use some 2.5Ah batteries myself; I've got a stash of 5Ah ones already!
