I'm looking for a way to secure the access panel on my dishwasher since the original push-in rivet broke. I've seen that OEM replacements are pretty pricey, like $19 for one or up to $40 for a pair of plastic rivets, which feels excessive. Is there a simple and cost-effective DIY solution? I'm thinking of using something like glue with a speed clip and a machine screw, but I want to ensure I can still remove the panel if necessary to access underneath.

You can find a variety of similar rivets at any auto-parts store. Just bring one of your old rivets along to compare with the options available on the shelves.
Another option is 3M automotive double-sided tape or even super glue. Just keep in mind that if you go the glue route, it’ll be permanent until you decide to replace the rivet. You can always break it off in the future if needed!
You might want to consider using adhesive back Velcro. It's a neat solution that allows you to easily remove the panel when you need to access it later.
Good idea, thanks!

Okay, thank you!
