Hey everyone! My trusty old DCD7 (the model is a bit gunky) just broke after about eight years of good use. I recently got the DCD1007 in a kit, and while it's powerful for larger jobs and hasn't let me down yet, it's quite heavy and awkward to handle for extended overhead tasks, especially with a larger battery. I'm in the market for a more compact drill that I can easily carry on my tool belt and use for smaller jobs without sacrificing too much power. Any suggestions?

If you're looking for something ultra portable, I’d definitely suggest checking out the 12V line. I've got the DCD805, and it’s a lot smaller than the DCD1007, even around an inch shorter than your old DCD7. I recently used mine for building a small hardwood deck, and it handled everything just fine!

Thanks for the tip! I do have an older 12V impact and drill, but they struggle with anything tougher than softwoods. I was thinking about the new DCD803 multi-head drill, but I'm not sure when it’s coming out in Australia.
