Can My Fridge Be Saved After an Accidental Cut?

I accidentally cut a hole in my fridge with a knife, and now it's leaking a lot of air. Is there any chance I can repair it, or am I out of luck?

It depends on where the cut is. If it’s on the back, near the coils, it might be easier to fix. But if it's in the base of the freezer, you could have a bigger issue. Those areas can be tricky! You might want to check for any damage to the cooling lines as well.

That sounds like it might be serious! If you heard anything like hissing or felt pressurized air, you might have punctured a copper pipe which releases refrigerant. In that case, you definitely need to call a technician because they’ll handle it better than a DIY fix.
