I just snagged a Stanley 45 plane for 20 bucks at an auction (check it out [here](https://imgur.com/a/GpHuPPy)). It only came with one blade, and since I usually prefer power tools, I'm unsure about what to do with it. Should I:
* Buy some replacement blades from Lee Valley and restore it, even if I might not use it a lot?
* Sell it to someone who would actually make use of it?
* Just store it away for my kid to handle later?

$20 is a steal for that! If you’re not planning to use it, you could probably sell it as-is and make some quick cash — definitely more than enough for a couple of beers!
What blade did it come with? If it’s a straight 1/4” blade, that could actually be handy for cutting grooves for drawer bottoms. Honestly, if you’re just doing a few drawers, it’s often quicker than using power tools.
I say go for a mix of options 1 and 3. Get it mostly restored — just enough to make it look good but not too much effort. Or restore it, sell it, and let the cash gather dust for your kids to deal with later!
Haha, I feel you! I’m really good at doing about 80% of a project and then totally losing interest.

I second this! If you ever decide to give it a shot, just look for a more complete version.
