How Do I Winterize My Potted Plants?

I'm trying to figure out the best way to protect my potted plants from frost this winter. I've got a couple of plants in pots, and I'm planning to buy some plant fleeces for protection. But I'm a bit confused about the covering process. Should I cover the entire pot? If I do that, won't the plants struggle for water? Any tips would be really appreciated!

Covering the whole pot with plant fleece can definitely help in protecting your plants from frost. However, to ensure they still get water, you might want to make sure there's a way for moisture to get through. You can try partially covering the pot or just covering the leaves and stems while leaving the bottom exposed. This way, they can still access moisture from the ground. Just keep an eye on the weather and water them if needed when there's no rain.

Great question! When using plant fleece, it's usually best to cover the foliage to protect from frost but keep in mind that moisture is important. If you're worried about water, you could mist the plants before covering them or just check the soil regularly to ensure they’re not drying out. Bottlebrush and hebe can be a bit sensitive, so a little extra attention will go a long way!

Exactly! A little water before covering is a smart move. Plus, those plants look gorgeous, but they do need the right care to survive the cold.
