Looking for Garage Workshop Setup Tips!

I've been working in my driveway for years, but I finally scored a great deal on a contractor SawStop! Now I'm planning to turn part of my garage into a dedicated workshop by adding a wall to create a space that's about 12ft by 20ft. I'm curious if anyone else has done something similar and what recommendations you have. My ideas include: a 50-inch custom pocket door for easy access, installing four electrical lines (three 20 amp circuits for tools and one 15 amp for lighting, plus plans for future dust collection and a compressor). I want everything on wheels to save space as I only tackle one project at a time. Any feedback or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Have you thought about why you want that dividing wall? For me, I prefer keeping all my tools accessible rather than sectioning everything off. Just pull the car out when it's time to work! That said, I get wanting to keep dust away from your other garage stuff—totally makes sense.

If you're adamant about that wall for keeping things clean, I say go for it. I did something similar in my garage, separating my shop and keeping my equipment dust-free, and it's been great. Just keep in mind that it might limit your space for bigger projects unless you plan to move your car out.

Running a couple of 220 circuits while you're at it is a solid idea. It might save you a headache later on if you get more powerful tools down the line. And consider having a temporary wall or curtains instead to keep things flexible for large projects!
