Need Help Replacing Rusty Bifold Doors in My Carport

Asked By RustyNail39 On

I'm in the process of updating my carport in Maryland, and I've run into a problem with the bifold doors. They seem more suited for indoor use and the tracks are heavily rusted. Since the doors are mainly used to store yard tools like rakes, I'm looking for affordable options for replacement or even some DIY fixes. I can't seem to find any bifold doors that are specifically designed for outdoor use. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I hear you about the struggle to find outdoor bifold doors! If you're looking for a budget-friendly way to handle this, you can also consider using a simple curtain rod and heavy-duty outdoor curtains for access. It’s not exactly bifold, but it could work well for storing your tools while keeping things tidy. Or, if you're set on bifold doors, look into local classifieds or second-hand options to get something more durable but still affordable.

If the rust isn't too severe, you might want to try cleaning it with a wire brush. Sometimes a good scrub can make a big difference. However, if the rust is really bad and the doors are in rough shape, it might be worth considering new tracks or even replacing the whole door setup. Check out local DIY stores; there might be options for exterior bifold doors that won’t break the bank. Good luck!
