Hey everyone! I'm working on some redesigns for a hobby rocket system that I lead at my university. I need to create new runners to sandwich one of the rocket fins, but I just realized I need 3/16" thick plywood for this. My issue is I have a meeting tomorrow and can't wait for online shipping. Local stores here only seem to carry 1/8" and 1/4" thicknesses. Is there a way to shave down the 1/4" plywood to the right thickness quickly? Any tips would be really appreciated!

Hey there! Good news for you - most of the time, the plywood sold as 1/4" is actually closer to 3/16". If you swing by a local home improvement store, you might find what you need! Just take a set of calipers with you to check it out. I bet you can snag some that will work for your project! Good luck!
Haha, just got back from Lowe's but sounds like I need to head back there tomorrow with those calipers! How often is 1/4 inch plywood undersized, though? I feel like it’s usually spot on.
