Mudjacking vs Polyjacking: Which is Better for Slab Raising?

I'm looking to raise my back patio slab a bit before winter hits and I've got quotes from two different companies—one that offers mudjacking and another that provides polyjacking. My main question is whether the performance difference between these two methods is as significant as some claim. What's the scoop?

I researched this a lot before leveling my driveway and didn't find a ton of clear resources. From what I gathered, polyjacking is slightly favored for a couple of reasons: mudjacking can wash away over time and can actually cause the ground beneath to sink due to its weight. However, the downside to polyjacking is that it involves chemical substances, which might raise some toxin concerns. Plus, it's usually more expensive. I went with polyjacking and so far, so good!

Honestly, it really comes down to who's doing the job. For a small and simple patio, I’d lean towards polyjacking since it has smaller holes and a faster process.

I can't speak for mudjacking, but I've had great luck with my DIY polyjacking for my sidewalk! Just used a masonry drill and some spray foam, and it worked wonders. Super easy to do yourself if you're up for it! You might want to give it a try if you're handy.
