I'm considering getting the M12 Insider with the H/O 2.5 battery for $300. I remember there was a combo earlier this year with the H/O 5.0 battery for the same price, so I'm wondering if this is a good deal right now or if I should just wait and see if there's a better sale during the upcoming holidays. I don't urgently need the tool; I just want it for convenience.

I think getting the M12 Insider now could be a solid investment, especially if you have a project coming up. If you just plan to use it later, you might want to wait for a better deal, but the price might only change slightly. It could end up being more beneficial for your project to buy it now rather than risk waiting and losing out on this deal.
I'm holding off too because I feel like there's likely a better deal coming up. I'd jump at it if it included that better battery or if it dropped below $250 for the tool by itself. Just be patient!
If you're interested in the insider for its pass-through sockets, I'd say go for it now. Just keep in mind that there are new fuel ratchets coming out that are faster and more powerful. Prices have been climbing lately, so waiting might not guarantee a better deal since the M12 drill driver combo has gotten pricier recently.
