I'm looking for advice on how to increase the contrast of an epoxy inlay I've done in walnut wood. I previously submitted this question but couldn't include images. I'm considering various options, but I've already tried oiling the wood, and that hasn't helped at all. I want to make the inlay stand out more. Any tips?

If your current epoxy is translucent, that can definitely be an issue. You could try layering your epoxy to build up the color or use a dark base layer beneath the epoxy to create more contrast. Just make sure everything cures properly between layers!
One trick to consider is using a more contrasting color for your epoxy. If your walnut is dark, going with a brighter color will help it stand out. You might want to look into adding more colorant to your epoxy to get it to opaque, which could also enhance the look of your inlay. If you're trying to fix something you've already done, maybe consider applying a clear coat to enhance the overall finish?

Yeah, I didn't think of a clear coat! That could really help bring the richness of the walnut and the epoxy together.
