Why Are My Dishes Still Dirty After Using My Bosch Dishwasher?

I've been using a Bosch dishwasher since 2018, and I'm consistently finding my dishes coming out dirty. I've tried various detergents, including a fragrance-free option that made things worse. Right now, I'm using Finish Powerball, but the results are still poor. I've even cleaned the bottom drain, but it hasn't made a difference. There's a white buildup inside that I'm not sure how to remove. I live in Northern California, where the water hardness isn't too bad, and we're installing a water softener this week, but I'm skeptical about whether that will help. Is there anything I'm missing here? Could it be due to a backed-up drain pipe or a fault in the dishwasher itself?

First things first, make sure your drain line has the correct air loop. If it’s not set up right, dirty water might be backfilling into your dishwasher. And when you cleaned the bottom drain, you did take out the filter and give it a proper wash, right? That’s crucial!

You might want to check out some videos on dishwashers for better insights! One thing that helps is using detergent in both the pre-wash and main wash compartments, instead of just those little pods. Also, try running your kitchen sink hot before starting the dishwasher. This way, it starts with hot water instead of cold, and it can really improve the wash quality.

Totally agree! I watched those videos too, and they made a huge difference for me. I still have trouble with some really stuck-on food, but overall, following those tips has worked wonders!
