Why Does My DCF850 Act Up at Different Trigger Speeds?

Hey everyone! I'm having some issues with my DCF850 impact driver. It behaves strangely depending on the trigger speed I select. At speed 1, it works as expected, but at speed 2, it only fires on every other trigger pull. Speed 3 runs for about a second before stopping, even though it does trigger with each pull. I'm wondering if this could be related to a problem with the speed selection switch or something else entirely? DeWalt is replacing it under warranty, but I'm curious if anyone has ideas for fixing a backup if it's possible!

Have you checked if the powerstack battery is causing any issues? I've got a couple of the 860 models that act weird with a powerstack but work just fine with the regular ones. If you’ve only tried regular batteries though, it might be worth borrowing a powerstack to see if it behaves differently.

It sounds like the controller might be at fault. Brushless motors can be tricky like that. If it is indeed the controller, it might be a tough fix—more of a job for the pros unless you’re comfortable diving into that kind of repair.
