What’s Up with Milwaukee’s Battery Pricing and Those Combo Deals?

I stopped by Home Depot today and left feeling a bit frustrated. The price for a pair of 2-5ah M12 batteries came out to $199, and they threw in a free pump with it! What I don't get is why they charge so much for the batteries when it feels like tools are getting tossed in as a bonus. Is there really that much extra production happening that they're practically giving away tools? It's making me hesitant to buy just for the sake of returning the tool later, and I wonder if I'd even be able to resell it. Anyone have insights into this pricing strategy?

Honestly, it's tough to say. If you're not keen on buying just to return the tool, you might want to check out places like Amazon for batteries; sometimes, you can find better components there, or consider buying used from marketplaces. There are people who buy just for the batteries and sell off the tools they don't need, so it's all about getting the best deal that works for you!

Sounds like a solid plan! Plus, buying used can save you a ton if you're smart about it!

Definitely worth considering Hercules! They can be a more affordable alternative if prices like this don't sit well with you.

I agree with the previous comments! It's all about impulse buying for them. They make combo deals that trick us into thinking we're saving money. If you don't need the tool, just sell it off. And if you don’t want to deal with all that hassle, maybe check out Hercule for more budget-friendly options.

I think those BOGO deals are kind of a marketing tactic to lure people in. They make you feel like you’re getting a great deal, even if you just want one item. Companies usually profit more from battery sales anyway! If you can swing it, just go for whatever product you need, and if you end up with the tool, who knows, you may like it enough to keep it!
