I've been using my Dewalt 20V framing nailer without any problems until today. I've had to replace the springs a few times, but it was always reliable. Now, when I try to use it again, nothing happens—the motor doesn't engage at all, no sounds, and I've tested multiple fresh batteries. I've also replaced the springs again, but I'm still stuck. It seems like when I press the tip down, the motor just doesn't wind up. Any ideas on what might be wrong or how to fix this?

First off, which model of the nailer are you using? Also, do any lights come on when you try to use it? Sometimes it's just a simple issue that can be easily fixed if we know the model.
Honestly, if you're still having issues, consider looking into the Metabo line. I’ve used Dewalt, but I've had better luck with Metabo tools in similar situations. Just something to think about!
It sounds like you've done some troubleshooting already, which is great! If you’ve got power up to the trigger, I’d suggest looking into the switch that activates when you press down to shoot a nail. There’s a small round bar that connects the safety to the switch, and if that’s not moving correctly, it could be the issue.
You might want to check if the jam release lever is stuck. If it is, that could prevent the motor from engaging. Just a thought!

It's the DCN692 model.
