Help Identifying a Heavy-Duty Weather Stripping Material

Asked By CuriousCat23 On

I'm trying to figure out what type of weather stripping this is. The usual foam, self-adhesive stuff that pops up in searches just won't cut it because the one I need to replace is more heavy-duty. Anyone have ideas on what this could be?

It looks like a type of weather stripping. I suggest checking out 'door seals'—you might find something similar there. Here's a link to a site that could have what you need: [Home Depot Door Seals](https://www.homedepot.com/b/Hardware-Weather-Stripping-Door-Seals/N-5yc1vZc3dy). It might take a little digging, but you may get lucky!

Does it look magnetic? This product might be close to what you're looking for: [Magnetic Door Seal Kit](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Frost-King-17-ft-Magnetic-Door-Seal-Replacement-Kit-MDS17HA/100586998).

That looks like a magnetized rubber seal, which usually attaches to the door frame and helps it stay sealed against a metal door. You might want to reach out to the door manufacturer for more info. They might help you out!

Thanks a lot! I'm relieved I didn't take it off to bring it for comparison.

Honestly, I'm not exactly sure what it is, but if it's related to doors or windows, I'd recommend checking Barton Kramer. Just a heads up—their website's not the best, but it’s worth a shot!
